HEMCO GAGES CELEBRATES 60 YEARS IN BUSINESS

HOLLAND, MI.: H. E. Morse Co., known as Hemco Gages, is celebrating its 60th year in business. Hemco has successfully navigated the past 60 years by changing its product line, innovating services and investing in technology. Today, the company manufactures and markets a complete line of functional limit gages using its proprietary HemcoCHROME Process.
H. E. Morse Co. was founded in 1946 and moved to Holland shortly thereafter. In its early years a unique plating process was developed that was used to gold plate tips of fountain pens. As the market changed, so did the company; growing becoming one of the largest ballpoint manufacturers.

Due to the advent of the plastic ballpoint pen and the Korean War, H.E. Morse Co. began manufacturing thread plug gages for the U.S. government. The unique plating process was applied to the chrome plating of gages, giving them up to 400% longer life than standard tool steel gages. Today, the organization, now commonly known as Hemco, manufactures a full line of fixed limit gages and variable gages. Hemco also manufactures gages to American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications and is one of only two manufacturers in the United States licensed to manufacture API Master Gages. Hemco’s products are recognized throughout the world for their longer life and outstanding quality.

Hemco Gages is proud of its many decades in Holland, MI. Today, we have many employees whose fathers and grandfathers worked as skilled craftsmen to build gages. Hemco is in its third generation of family leadership.
